50% of the gross revenue from the trip cost paid by KES visitors and volunteers in KPT forest will be used to support the Conservation and Research Fund. The fund will need honest, transparent operations overseen by a Conservation and Research Fund Advisory Group and full publication and promotion of the activities for which funds are spent. This money would be used only for the construction, maintenance, purchase of equipment and operation of facilities related to volunteerism, biodiversity conservation, and environmental education. The Conservation and Research Fund is not intended for general operating expenses or to pay normal salaries or bonuses above salary.

"Co-operation with the park staff to release a rescued Bay owl (Phodilus badius) back to the forest, and helping to study and identify the
visiting winter birds such as the Arctic warbler." (B0006, B0002 @Suwit Punnadee)
The Conservation and Research Fund could have significant positive impacts on the natural environment by increasing the KPT forest rangers' ability to meet its conservation objectives. This depends on what activities are supported by the fund. For example, if the fund purchases additional patrol, monitoring or radio equipment, there should be an increase in the KPT forest rangers' effectiveness in stopping illegal hunting or other poaching activities.
