It is well known that rainforest is home to the most diverse and beautiful collection of animals, plants, mushrooms and small living organisms in the world. Rainforests have been called the "jewels of the Earth" and the "world's largest pharmacy", because over one quarter of natural medicines were discovered there. In addition, much research concludes that sequestration of carbon in rainforests could help offset global warming. If you are really concerned about saving the earth and doing what it that takes to make our planet a better place for the next generation, there are many ways to contribute. |
Come visit us!
The first site includes famous visitor attractions at the Bang Pae Waterfall sub-station, located on east side of the Park. Parts of the project situated on this side include the information center for visitors and the rehabilitation site.

The information center plays a crucial role in educating people of all ages about the values of rainforest to wildlife and ecosystem. The center provides an exciting, educational environment for the public to learn about the importance of conserving this rainforest for future generations to enjoy.
After paying the national park entrance fees at the check point, visitors come into the center and enjoy the many exhibits in the display hall. Visitors can also see gibbons unable to be released and rehabitated gibbons in enclosures from the viewing platform. The rehabilitation site mostly houses White-handed gibbon but visitors also can see species such as Pileated gibbon, Agile gibbon and Golden-cheeked gibbon. Take some time to observe the acrobatic antics of the gibbons as they swing on bars, poles, and hanging ropes. You can also see the gentle interactions of a mother and infant as well as the rough and tumble play of a juvenile group, who occasionally stop to rest, groom, sing, drink and feed.

Learn conservation details from the information board or spend time discussing and sharing experiences with our staff and volunteers. Apart from public education, the Center also forms the basis of financial support for the project. We really appreciate your support in the forms of purchasing merchandise, adopting a gibbon or making a donation.
Take more time to explore another attractive point, the Bang Pae waterfall, which is located only 300 meters from the Center. The walk passes through steep terrain along a concrete path on the banks parallell to the stream, under the pristine forest canopy, and reaches the best view point of Bang Pae waterfall.
The second site is the project office in Bang Rong village, only 2 kilometers from the waterfall, which is home to staff and volunteer accommodation.

The student group meets to discuss conservation issues in the Social House at project office.
This is a good option for visitors who are interested in more extensive information about the project. Other visitors may include backpackers, students, researchers, naturalists and conservationists who wish to learn more about our work, and would like to discuss and exchange knowledge. The visitor will get more information from our staff and volunteers at the project, and can spend time discussing wide ranging interests: wild animal life, reintroduction, captive caring, management, health, behavior, ecology, fauna and flora of the rainforest. This is a private section of the project, so if you would like to visit please contact info@khaophrathaew.org to make an appointment. We also appreciate your support including purchasing merchandise, adopting a gibbon or making a donation.

Become a volunteer
Volunteering with the project is a great way to make a difference in local nature conservation. This option not only helps us to get valuable work done, but it gives volunteers the opportunity to gain experience, meet new people with common interests, learn new skills and have some fun!
We would love to welcome you into one of our volunteering teams. We are always looking for volunteers for the "Conservation volunteer trip programme" in the Park, where you can also enjoy the outdoor wilderness experience. The project provides highly flexible volunteer opportunities for those who wish to help monitor conditions in our Park. Volunteer national park monitors need only make a minimum commitment of 3 hours and maximum 18 hours (one night and half day). If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us info@khaophrathaew.org.
