       Short walk trips
"Jungle soft experience"

P0012
Sterculia sp trees produce brillant scarlet pods. The pods turn from green to red when ripe and split open, exposing two rows of shiny black seeds, one on either side. (P0012 @Suwit Punnadee)

This consists of a 3 hour trek either through the plain terrain into dense secondary rainforest at Baan Taak, which covers a distance of 1,500 meters; or a slightly longer walk through steep terrain along the pristine forest at Ton Sai waterfall, which covers a distance of 2,000 meters.

Both these trails are short and relatively easy, and give volunteers a taste of what the rainforest has to offer. This option is ideal for family groups or the less adventurous visitor. It is also a more suitable option for people who want to experience the rainforest, but who may be pressed for time or feel they may not be up to a full day trek. The visitors have the opportunity to explore the natural forest with its vast array of flora and fauna just as they would with the other longer treks. However, they will not have the chance to observe the successfully reintroduced gibbons now living in other areas of the national park.
